Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool
The completion of this extension to the McGregor Hall Teaching block concludes the fourteenth year of continual involvement for the practice with the school.
A changing role in the field of Special Education has required the Royal School for the Blind to adapt its premises to care for severely disabled children, of which impaired vision is just one of their disabilities. A building programme has been delivered to provide the school with the specialist residential and teaching facilities they need to carry out this task.
Undertaken without disruption to the School’s activities, several of the projects have received recognition for their quality.
The Royal School for the Blind achieved Commended at the Civic Trust Awards 1996.
