Mike Nightingale is the founder of Nightingale Associates and now acts as a non-executive board member, providing guidance and direction to the practice’s executive board.
He has led numerous high profile healthcare projects since starting the practice in 1987, including London’s King’s College Hospital and the famous Great Ormond Street children’s hospital.
Aside from his role at Nightingale Associates, Mike also plays a central role in the U.K. in the promotion of the design quality of healthcare facilities. He was the author of ‘Better by Design’, the design guide published by the National Health Service, and was a founder committee member for Architects for Health and the R.I.B.A. Health Client Forum. He regularly reviews healthcare projects as a member of the NHS Design Review Panel and is on the International and Editorial Review Panel of the International Academy of Design & Health.
