Nightingale Associates shortlisted
for five awards

The results are in…from LIFT to Green Apple, Nightingale Associates has been shortlisted for a total of five awards.

Including Peterborough City Care Centre, Gateway Sixth Form College, Breightmet Primary Care Resource Centre and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda, Nightingale Associates has been shortlisted for five awards in the LIFT, Green Apple and Local Authority Building Control awards.

Nightingale gets a LIFT up

Breightmet Primary Care Resource Centre is shortlisted for a LIFT award in the Design category. The £8 million newly-built scheme was undertaken as part of the Local Investment Finance Trust (LIFT) initiative. Providing new primary healthcare facilities to the local area, the new building includes GP practices, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and acute sector mental health provision.

In addition, Nightingale Associates is shortlisted in the Best Supply Chain Partner category of the LIFT awards for its work as architects to act for Private Sector Partners for six LIFT Companies and, without exception, novation to the contractor teams for the delivery of projects on site.

The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Thursday 8th July at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.

A Green Apple for responsible design

Gateway Sixth Form College, Leicester

Gateway Sixth Form College is Nightingale Associates’ highly-sustainable new-build college campus in Leicester, designed to accommodate 1500 students – and has been shortlisted for a Green Apple award. In line with the college’s aspirations for a sustainable environment, Nightingale designed a building that minimises carbon footprint.

Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda

Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda

Also shortlisted for a Green Apple is Nightingale Associates’ Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda. The new hospital successfully replaces an out-moded and inappropriate facility to provide an exemplary healthcare facility for the community.

The prestigious Green Apple trophies will be presented at the Tower of London on Monday 14th June. The event will also be filmed and broadcast by Green TV.

Nightingale Associates’ Peterborough City Care Centre (ICC) has been selected as one of four finalists for the LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards in the category of Best Community Building. The scheme was constructed on the site of the former Fenland Wing at Peterborough District Hospital and was designed to provide a number of essential care services to patients closer to home within a modern primary care environment.

The awards ceremony will be held at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Spa and Golf Club on 30th April.
