Nightingale soars in science sector
with appointment to MRC framework

03 February 2009

Leading science practice to benefit from £682m framework.

Nightingale Associates is one of four practices that have been appointed to the Medical Research Council (MRC) procurement framework, which is a significant step forward for the practice in building its reputation as a leader in the field of science.

The framework, which will run for four years from April 1st 2009, will open doors to a range of science projects for Nightingale Associates and will consist of jobs ranging from £100,000 to £15 million.

Nightingale Associates’ appointment to the framework follows the Government’s recent announcement that funding for health research will rise to £1.7 billion per year by 2010-11. Of this amount, the MRC will receive £682 million in 2010-11 from the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Nightingale Associates, which has over 300 staff situated in the UK and South Africa, has already built a significant presence in the science sector, having completed a number of laboratory projects both within and independent of health and educational establishments. The practice benefits from a number of its own in-house, specialist Laboratory Planners.

“This is a very significant achievement for Nightingale Associates and we are looking forward to the opportunity to work on some exciting and specialist science projects.”

Adrian Gainer, Senior Director, Nightingale Associates

In total the MRC has 53 Units, Centres and Institutes situated throughout the UK, as well as units in the Gambia and Uganda.
