Nightingale Cardiff has recently completed an award winning £6m Renal and Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at West Wales General Hospital.

Described by the Health Minister, Dr Brian Gibbons as ‘state of the art’, the new unit has also been honoured by Carmarthenshire County Council at their ‘Build in Quality Awards’.

Developed in close consultation with health professionals and user groups, including the Welsh Kidney Patients Association, the existing facility has been replaced to offer patients and staff 2 floors of bright and modern treatment space.

The new dialysis unit has raised the current capacity by 14, creating a 30 station unit which has enabled the local NHS Trust to improve future access to care in Carmarthen, increasing patient treatment sessions by 50%.
