RIBA President speaks at
Nightingale event
01 December 2008
Nightingale Associates’ Senior Directors enjoyed a presentation from RIBA president, Sunand Prasad, at their quarterly Senior Directors Forum last week.
Prasad has been president of RIBA since September 2007 and is a founding partner of Penoyre & Prasad, an architectural practice known for designing a diverse range of award-winning buildings.
Prasad’s presentation, entitled “Will Nightingales sing in Portland Place?” provided a unique insight into the relationship between architecture and climate change. The presentation focused on how architects have a high level of influence and responsibility in ensuring that worldwide targets to combat the inevitable effects of climate change are met.
Prasad also gave a brief presentation of some of his recently completed projects, including the unique and distinctive Moorfields Eye Hospital, which also features in his new book, ‘Transformations’.
“It was a pleasure to have Sunand Prasad as guest at one of our Forums. His presentation was very well received by our Senior Directors and provided interesting and thought-provoking topics for discussion.”
