Nightingale Associates Education presence now equals Healthcare

Due to its exceptional growth in the Further Education sector, Nightingale Associates has reached a watershed point in its development, receiving half of its income from education projects.
Previously known primarily for its work on big healthcare projects the practice further consolidated its position as a leading player in the further education sector, announcing three wins this week alone, with a total construction value of £81 million.
The projects include carrying out feasibility studies and master planning for the £40 million redevelopment of Bedford College and the £20 million redevelopment of SEEVIC Further Education College. The practice has also been commissioned to design the £21 million redevelopment of Varndean College, which will see 11,000 square metres of new build created in one of the most important developments in the college’s lifespan.

These projects are the latest in a series of big wins for the practice, including the £95 million redevelopment of Guildford college, the £62 million redevelopment of the Colchester Institute (illustrated above), the £15 million project to redevelop the National Star College for Cotswold District council, the £38 million redevelopment of West Herts College and the £45 million redevelopment of East Berkshire. Education-based projects now account for half of Nightingale Associates’ work.
As part of the practice’s strategy for its continuing expansion into the education sector, Nightingale Associates has appointed Bernard Doyle, Principal of its Bristol office as Education Development Director and Chris Way, based in the practice’s Dartford office, as Further Education leader.
