A milestone for Medicover in Poland

15 January 2007

Monday 8 January 2007 saw the application for the building permit being submitted for the Medicover hospital development in Warsaw, Poland. This stage in the process represents one of the most important milestones for the project.

Our architectural team in Cardiff began work on this project in June 2006 and worked at record speed to develop a brief and design for this scheme. Our client, Medicover, is a private medical insurance provider and healthcare management organisation based in Poland. This project was to design and build their first inpatient hospital, to be located in Warsaw.

The deadline we have met should enable the construction to begin on time, just before the summer starts, allowing for 90 days of review of the application by the City Hall. It is anticipated that there should not be any delay and that the building permit should be granted by April/May 2007.

We received the great news from the chief operating officer, Dr. Lajos Fabian, and project director, Mr. Marcin Lukasiewicz, by email along with some very positive comments about the effort put in by our team:

“The project team performed an outstanding job for our common project with high level of dedication, under the strong leadership of Marcin, fundamentally achieved a close to world record time in terms of the length of time spent on preparatory work before this phase. As our partners also confirm, this process usually requires much longer, sometimes 3-4x longer time vs. what we have pushed through.

“This would not have been possible without very hard, disciplined efforts of dedicated and motivated people.”
