British architect joins
trade delegation to Africa
07 September 2002
Mike Nightingale, of healthcare architects Nightingale Associates, will be visiting South Africa on a trade mission in September.
The mission, which comprises 26 delegates from all walks of business, will visit Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town from 7 - 17 September.
Nightingale Associates is the largest healthcare practice in Europe. Its objectives from the trade mission are to expand in South Africa, reinforcing existing links and creating new ones. The practice already has a working relationship with South African architects Bartsch and is keen to export its healthcare expertise.
Mike was in South Africa last October, when he was a main speaker at an international conference of architects and engineers in Sun City, discussing UK healthcare and PFI.
The trade mission has been organised by Croydon Council with the support of Trade Partners UK, the UK 's export promotion body. Mission manager Angelina Purcell, of the council's Economic and Strategic Development Unit (ESDU) said: "Britain already has strong cultural and business links within South Africa and throughout the continent. We believe there is trading potential over a wide field."
