Dovercourt Health Centre, Essex

The Community Hospital and Health Centre at Dovercourt is finished externally in a combination of brick / render and timber cladding, with full height glazing and a canopy to the main entrance. It is arranged around a central courtyard, enabling natural daylight to reach deep into the building.

Nightingale Associates worked closely with the User Groups to develop a design that responded to their specific requirements, while simultaneously working with the contractor and his subcontractors to ensure the team achieved value for money without compromising quality. Nightingale Associates’ design for the centre’s internal environment applied our unique approach to Sense Sensitive Design, Emotional Mapping and Design Prescription. Carefully selected colours, natural daylight, dedicated receptions and sophisticated ceiling treatment all create this ambience.

The two storey building includes a wide range of facilities including: 10 Consulting Rooms combining two GP Practices; MIU; OPD; rehabilitation; utilities; 25 Bed Inpatients Ward; Maternity Suite (10 beds); Theatre; Administration; Endoscopy; Cataract Surgery; Multi-Agency Group Therapy Room.
